Motorola rolls out Android 14 update for Edge 40

In recent days, Motorola has been widely rolling out the Android 14 update to eligible devices. The company has expanded the anticipated software upgrade to another Edge series smartphone. Moto Edge 40 is the newest smartphone to receive the Android 14 update, read on to explore all details.

At the time of writing, the update is in a rolling phase and is currently available to some users in India. According to a user on X (formerly Twitter), the update weighs around 1.5GB in download size and seeding with U1TL34.115-13 build number. Apart from that, the update brings the March 2024 monthly security patch.

The company has already released the update for the Edge 40 Pro in February and now is the time for the affordable variant. As I said earlier, currently the update is limited to select users; a broader rollout to commence in a matter of time.

Moving to the features and changes, the Android 14 update for Moto Edge 40 comes with a slew of useful features including lock screen customizations, monochrome themes with more color options, use your phone as a webcam, a new battery settings page, and even bigger fonts, improved privacy and security, and more.

If you live in India and own the Edge 40, then you can for new updates by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates. If the update is not yet visible on your device, please wait for a few days.

Make sure to take a backup before updating your phone. Also, charge your phone to at least 50% before updating the device.
