Motorola releases Android 12 update for Moto G60 and G40 Fusion

Motorola is expanding its portfolio of phones running on Android 12. This week, the firm rolls out the major upgrade for two of last year’s G-series phones. Yes, the Android 12 update goes official for Moto G60 and G40 Fusion. At the moment, the upgrade is in a rolling phase and will reach all phones soon. A bunch of Moto G40 and G60 users have already received the new update in India, and a wider rollout should follow soon. Reddit user (u/Ok_Transition5930) shared a screenshot of the new update and as per the information and the OTA weighs around 1.30GB in size. Motorola pushes the new update to the G40 Fusion with the S2RI32.32-20-7 software version. Both phones were announced with Android 11 OS and are all set to receive their first major software update in the form of Android 12.

Motorola rolls out the new Android 12 update with a stack of new features including an updated notification panel, new widgets, Material You elements, and a bunch of security and privacy features. Apart from that, the update comes with a slew of customization options such as font style, size, colors, icon shapes, layouts, wallpapers, and more from the home screen menu. And obviously, it will also bump up the monthly security patch version.

You can also expect more stability across the system along with fixes to the known issues. But still, there are some issues that need to be addressed, yes, many Moto users facing the hotspot disconnect issue and a few more. We can expect a more stable build in the coming days.

Moto G40 & Moto G60 Android 12 update

The wait is finally over, Moto G40 Fusion and Moto G60 users can now upgrade to Android 12. If you own any of the two phones and reside in India, then you can easily update your phone to a newer version by heading over to the Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and check for the new updates.

If the update is not available, you can wait for a few days or update it manually. Before updating your phone make sure to charge it to at least 50% and also make a backup of important data.
