For the past few months, Motorola has been working to push the Android 11 update to its smartphones. And the latest model to receive the Android 11 update is the Moto G Fast. The smartphone was announced back in June 2020 with Android 10 OS. The newer update bags a number of useful features, improvements, and fixes. There are a number of people on social media confirmed receiving the latest software update on their smartphone in Canada. A twitter user (@cambridges4all) confirmed that the update is available on Moto G Fast from Bell Mobility. Not only this, but the Motorola’s own support verified the rollout on Moto G Fast from Telus, Bell Mobility, Rogers, Other Carrier or Retail models. The company had begun rollout on 13th May 2021, we can expect the update will be available to everyone within a few days or weeks.
As it is a first major OS update for the Moto G Fast, it may require a chunk of data for downloading. The newer build also bumps up the monthly security version number on your smartphone. Last month, the update hits the USA based Moto G Fast models with February 2021 monthly security patch and RPJ31.Q1-53-12 software version number.
Apart from that, we can expect a number of visual changes, alongside the Chat Bubbles, change in Notification panel & volume controls, improved performance, and many other features of Android 11. As for now the changelog is not available to us, but the update should come with a bunch of new features, which are mentioned in the above paragraph.
Moto G Fast Android 11 Update
Android 11 update is now available for Moto G Fast users in Canada and USA. If you’ve received the update on your smartphone via OTA, then simply tap on it and sideload the newer build on your device. But there are sometimes when OTA notification doesn’t arrive, in that case, you can head over to the Settings app > System > Software Update, if the update is available then tap on Download and Install.
If the update is not available on your unit, then you can wait for a few days, staged rollouts take some time to reach every smartphone.
Before updating your smartphone, make sure to take a backup of important data. Also, make sure to charge your smartphone to at least 30%.
