Later, the company’s support page also confirmed the rollout. The page reveals all features coming with the update, check it out here.

  • More control over personal data
    • Now you can see and better control who has access to your personal data, like photos, location, and health information.
  • Grant partial access to images and videos
    • When apps request access to your media, you can now grant access to specific images and videos in your library, instead of granting access to all media of that type.
  • See when apps want to share your location with a 3rd party
    • If an app wants to share your location information with 3rd parties, the location permission screen will now highlight this information so that you can deny permission as needed.
    • If any apps you previously granted location permissions change their data sharing practices and start sharing data with 3rd parties, you will receive a notification so you can deny permissions if needed.
  • Get notified if someone is tracking you
    • You can now get notified automatically if your phone determines that an unknown tracker is moving with you. Unknown tracker alerts work with widely used Bluetooth trackers, including Apple AirTags and all trackers compatible with the Find My Device network.
  • Control your health data in a single place
    • Health Connect is a health and fitness repository. Use it to store all of your health data (activity, body measurement, nutrition, sleep, vitals) on your phone. Then, control which data you want to share with your favorite fitness apps.
  • Flash notifications
    • You can now set your phone to flash when you have incoming notifications. You can choose between the camera light, your screen light, or both. Flash notifications will respect your settings and stay dark for Do Not Disturb.
  • Improved magnification
  • Now you can pinch to zoom in and out from 100%. You can also:
    • Change the magnifier size (how much of the screen to magnify)
    • Set magnification to stay on when you switch apps, instead of turning off

Moto G 5G (2023) owners can check for software updates by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates.

Make sure to take a backup before updating your phone. Also, charge your phone to at least 50% before updating the device.
