Microsoft rolls out Windows 11 22000.493 build with fixes and improvements

It’s the second Tuesday of the month, the time when every Microsoft product gets a security update. And Microsoft has just released its Tuesday Patch for Windows 11. The latest release is tagged with Windows 11 22000.493 build. The more-secured new build of Windows 11 comes with a big list of improvements. Although, users are waiting for the Android apps support, new Widgets button, and other features teased by Microsoft last month. But this patch is not more than security and fixes. We can expect one more release this month with Android apps support and other features said to be released this month.

The newest cumulative patch of Windows 11 is labeled with Windows 11 22000.493 (KB5010386) build number. The build is also available for manually sideloading, you can move to this page to download latest patch.

Moving to the changes, then Microsoft addresses a big list of bugs in this update. The list includes fixes such as Auto-hide feature of taskbar, App icons display, Volume icon on taskbar, Taskbar icons on secondary display, IME and Language updates, File Explorer browsing issues, Auto brightness low-light response, color rendering for some image editing programs, and a few more. The update also brings new Your Microsoft Account page in the Settings app as well as the new HelpWith feature that uses Bing for suggestions in the Settings app. Apart from the afore-listed fixes, the update also bring this major fix.

  • Addresses an issue that causes a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) modify operation to fail if the operation contains the SamAccountName and UserAccountControl attributes. The error message is, “Error: 0x20EF. The directory service encountered an unknown failure”.

The update is already available to many users, this build is rolling over the air, you can simply open the Settings app, then head over to the Windows Update, and update your PC to the newest Cumulative update. That’s it.
