Microsoft releases this months Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11 version 23H2 and version 22H2 (KB5035853). Since this is a monthly security release, it brings some improvements and also addresses some security issues. Letโ€™s see what Microsoft has in store for Windows 11 users in the March update.

The new March 2024 Windows 11 Patch Tuesday update (version 23H2) comes with build number 22631.3296 or 22621.3296. And this cumulative monthly update is tagged as KB5035853. This is an important security update and not an optional update, so yes after some time you will have to install it even if you skip it now.

Now letโ€™s talk about new features, the Windows 11 March 2024 update renames the ‘Phone Link’ settings to ‘Mobile Devices’, adds support for USB 80Gbps, allows editing photos using snipping tool from Mobile Devices, and some reliability improvements. And it also includes all the changes from the preview build released late last month.

Unlike the preview build, this is an important update. The Windows 11 March 2024 (KB5035853) update is available to everyone, unless they are on an Insider build. So if your Windows PC running on a previous public build (including preview builds), you will receive the new monthly build on your PC.

You can check for the update by going to Settings > Windows Update. Remember that this is a monthly update and could weigh more in size, so make sure to use a WiFi connection. Once the new update appears, hit the Update Now button. And when your PC asks for a restart, allow it to successfully install the update.
