Well, Apple’s 2024 WWDC event has just ended, and many exciting things are being announced for iOS and macOS. Apart from iOS 18, there is a new macOS in town, called macOS Sequoia, the new macOS now comes with new features as well as the power of AI.
The incremental number for macOS Sequoia is 15 but, now, the main question that a lot of users have in mind is whether the new operating system will support their current Mac device or not. But, before we dig into what the list of supported devices is, let’s have a quick rundown of what’s new with macOS 15 Sequoia.
macOS 15 Sequoia: Features and Compatible Devices
While Apple says every year that macOS has gotten better and is the best operating system out there, it is only this year that the OS has gotten features that make using Mac devices so much better. In a world where a lot of things out here have AI integration, Apple has finally let the cat out of the bag by bringing Apple Intelligence to its devices.
Apple Intelligence – Apple’s Take on AI
With Apple Intelligence, you will be able to make use of new writing tools, get the ability to summarize texts, and also prioritize notifications according to your liking. Thanks to AI, Siri is now smarter and better at performing various tasks. Thanks to Genmoji, you can easily create images of your choice that can be used during conversations via iMessage.
Seamless Continuity
If you have an iPhone, you can now seamlessly control and use your iPhone by just using your macOS-powered device. From receiving notifications to drag-and-drop items, you can do all of this without having to reach for your iPhone.
Productivity Boosting
Apple wants to make sure that you remain productive at all times. To make things better, you can now easily move and organize multiple windows on your screen so that you can view multiple windows at the same time without having to switch between them manually. During presentation or video calls, you can now choose to show either the full screen or a specific app. Additionally, you can make your FaceTime calls even better by using either built-in backgrounds or your images as video call backgrounds.
A Better Safari
Apple’s Safari web browser now has a redesigned reader that gives you a gift or summary of the article you’re reading. Viewing videos with Safari is even better thanks to its ability to bring the video to the front of your screen. And yes, you do get playback controls which are easily accessible.
