Earlier this week, the news broke out that, the South Korean Electronics company, LG, officially announced its exit from the smartphone market. But the company will keep rolling out the newer updates including monthly security patches and Android 11 update to its smartphones.

Last month, LG shared the official roadmap of Android 11 update, the roadmap features a list of pending phones. However, as per the updated FAQ page on LG’s South Korea website, some models will also get the Android 12 update, but for now, the company has not revealed the device names.
The company mentions that the timing and availability will vary by regions. While the Android 12 schedule will depend on Google’s distribution plan. We can expect that the Android 12 update will be available for flagship models such as the LG V60 ThinQ, LG Velvet, and LG Wing.
Obviously, the newer updates would come with a number of new features, improvements, and updated security patches. The Android 11 update will come with most of the Android 11 features on LG Phones such as Chat Bubbles, Improved UI, enhanced privacy, bug fixes, etc.
Recently, LG kicked-off Android 11 update for the LG Velvet and LG V60 ThinQ. And the LG G8X ThinQ is next in-line, it is slated to receive the major update in Q2 of 2021. If you’re using any of the above-mentioned models, then your smartphone will get the Android 12 update.
Update 1: Three-years of Android OS update confirm
Three days ago, LG had officially confirmed that the smartphones announced after 2019 will get three Android OS updates. It simply means that the LG G8 series, LG V50, LG V60, LG Velvet lineup, and LG Wing are set to get three major OS updates.
Aside from the flagship phones, the mid-range LG Stylo 6 and K-series users can expect that their device will get two major updates, which includes the Android 12 update.

Apart from the software updates, LG will continue providing hardware support to the smartphones. LG smartphones users can visit the service centers for hardware related issues.
