The month of September is merely two weeks away which means the upcoming Apple event is also near. After the event iOS 17 will also be released to everyone with eligible iPhones. Consequently the tech giant is consistently working on the iOS 17 through beta testing.
Today, Apple issued the sixth iteration of iOS 17 to developers and the fourth iteration to public beta testers. Although the beta numbers are different both are same updates. Notably, with this recent beta release, the public build is anticipated to be just two or three beta versions away including release candidate.
Along with iOS 17 Beta 6, Apple also released iPadOS 17 Beta 6, watchOS 10 Beta 6, and tvOS 17 Beta 6. Both iOS 17 Beta 6 and iPadOS 17 Beta 6 along with their public beta updates come with same build number which is 21A5312c. As can be seen in the build number, we are getting close to public build.

Apple has already added the majority of the iOS 17 features that were unveiled during the WWDC event earlier this year. With just a few betas remaining before the official iOS 17 release, it’s unlikely that any new features will be introduced in remaining betas. Apple’s primary objective now is to ensure that iOS 17 is a seamless, bug-free update. And the strategy is reflecting in the latest beta.
The iOS 17 Beta 6 comes with tons of bug fixes in 79 different categories. So if you have been experiencing any issues on the iOS 17 beta, the new beta might fix it. However the long notification bug is still there. All resolved issue mentioned here.
Along with so many resolved issues Apple also tweaked some UI in different apps. The main change is the replacement of End button in phone call, the End Call button has been moved back to the middle.
Here are other changes:
- In Display and Brightness Settings, lock screen wallpaper preview is updated with iOS 17 wallpaper
- To manage iMessage Apps, delete buttons are replaced by toggles
- Some users in Europe are now seeing the Apple Pay Cash, but getting error in the setup
- And few more small changes
