Apple has released a minor incremental update, iOS 17.3.1, for iPhone users. This latest update primarily addresses bug fixes and is accessible to all iPhones eligible for iOS 17. Earlier in the week, Apple rolled out iOS 17.4 Beta 2 to developers and public beta testers. Therefore, if your device has already been updated to iOS 17.4, you will not receive the iOS 17.3.1 update.

Some users experienced issues with text overlapping in iOS 17.3, which negatively impacted the user experience. Text is something that is used every day and hence it is a big issue that users had to face in iOS 17.3. So if you have this issue on your iPhone, this update is for you.

iOS 17.3.1 update

Apple also released public updates for other devices. This includes iPadOS 17.3.1, macOS Sonoma 14.3.1, and watchOS 10.3.1. The iOS 17.3.1 comes with build number 21D61 which is also the same as iPadOS 17.3.1.

As mentioned earlier, this is a small incremental fix update. The update includes text overlap fixes and a security update. Apple did not mention any other improvements or changes. But there may be some additional fixes or improvements.

The iOS 17.3.1 is available to the Public. If you are on an iOS 17 public build like iOS 17.3, you will receive the update over the air. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Before installing the update, make sure to take a backup and charge your iPhone to at least 50%.
