iOS 15 Beta 4 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4 land on iPhones and iPads

After rolling out the iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1 public build, Apple now rolls out iOS 15 Beta 4 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4. The last beta was released about two weeks ago that brings some notable changes. And you would be hoping for a handful of changes also in the fourth beta. Well, Apple has delivered the same again. iOS 15 was announced last month in which Apple mentioned a bunch of new features coming to iPhones and iPads. And they have been adding those features with different beta updates. The fourth iOS 15 beta also adds some of the missing features and a bunch of bug fixes for stable performance. Apple is yet to release many beta before we get the stable build.

iOS 15 Beta 4

Along with iOS 15 Beta 4 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4, Apple has also released tvOS Beta 4, macOS Monterey 12 Beta 4, watchOS 8 Beta 4, and HomePod 15 Beta 4. Both iOS 15 Beta 4 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4 are available with build number 19A5307g. And expect the update size to be more than 1GB. It comes with many small changes like icons, new splash screens, changes in controls, etc.

iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4 Changes

The fourth beta brings a new firmware update on iPhone 12 models, so if you have any connectivity issue, you can expect it to be fixed with the update.

Safari browser also received some changes on both iPhones and iPads. In the search bar now there is a refresh button permanently along with the Share icon. Also, Safari on iPad now brings back the old UI along with the option to switch between compact tab bar and separate tab bar. You can also now swipe to change tabs.

There are many changes in icons like the Camera icon in lockscreen, Notes icon in Control Center, Notification icon in Settings, etc.

You can now choose if you want to receive notifications or not while sharing screen via SharePlay or AirPlay.

The fourth beta also brings MagSafe Battery pack support for iPhone 12 models.

Other changes include, bigger podcast widget, return to the homescreen shortcut, and more. Apple also fixed many bugs, but there are many bugs that need to be addressed.

iOS 15 Beta 4 and iPadOS Beta 4

Both iOS 15 Beta 4 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4 are now available to developers. Public beta testers can expect the update soon. If you are on one of the iOS 15 beta then you will receive an over the air update. In case if you don’t get the notification, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update. Once you see the update click on Download & Install button to get the latest update.

Since many beta updates are still pending one can not expect it to be stable enough for the daily driver. So make sure you know the bugs you get to face before updating to iOS 15 beta 4 or iPadOS 15 beta 4. How to Install iOS 15 Beta 4 & iPadOS 15 Beta 4

  1. Go to the Apple Beta Software program site.
  2. Then scroll down a bit and click on Sign in if you have Apple ID.
  3. On the next page, select the correct OS for your devices like iOS 15 or iPadOS 15.
  4. Scroll down till Getting Started and click on Enroll your iOS device.
  5. Now you need to install a profile from the next Page. For this, click on the Download Profile.
  6. In Settings, you will get a new option ‘Profile Downloaded’. Go to the new section and install the profile.
  7. After installing the Profile, reboot your device. And you are ready to install iOS 15 Beta 4 on your iPhone.

After installing the beta profile, you can go to Settings > Software Update to install the latest update on your iPhone or iPad. You can also install iOS 15 Beta 4 with the full IPSW file using Finder or iTunes.
