Apple seeds iOS 15.4 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.4 Beta 1

After rolling out the iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 updates to the public yesterday, Apple today released iOS 15.4 beta 1 and iPadOS 15.4 beta 1. The last iOS 15.3 was a much needed update to fix some major vulnerabilities. But it didn’t bring any fun features. And it seems to be loaded in iOS 15.4 beta 1 and iPadOS 15.4 beta 1. This was a surprise as many of us did not expect an update right after the iOS 15.3 release. But this is nothing new that we have seen from Apple. The first beta of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 seems to be big in terms of new features and changes. So it will be fun to test the new update and its features.

Apple has also released macOS Monterey 12.3 Beta 1, tvOS 15.4 Beta 1, watchOS 8.5 Beta 1 along with iOS 15.4 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.4 Beta 1. The new update weighs in around 4-6GB, so be sure to use WiFi to update. Both iOS 15.4 Beta 1 and iPadOS 15.4 Beta 1 carry build number 19E5209h.

As for the new features, the new update brings a new modem update that fixes network and connectivity issues. Face ID with Mask is now available on iPhone 12 or newer and works even without Apple Watch. iOS 15.3 also comes with a new Wallet widget and several new emojis.

Universal Control is also here for macOS and iPadOS. It lets you control iPads and Macs with the same trackpad and keyboard. It works starting macOS 12.3 beta 1 and iPadOS 15.4 beta 1. iPadOS 15.4 beta 1 also gets a keyboard LED brightness control in the Control Center. It now also supports PS5 DualSense Adaptive Triggers.

You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Before updating your iPhone or iPad make sure to charge it at 50% and take backup. As it is a beta update there can be some bugs.
