How to use Spatial Audio on Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 phones

Earlier this week, Google released a January update for Pixel phones. The upgrade brings a new security patch along with the anticipated spatial audio feature. However, the new feature is limited to the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro, if you own any of these Pixel phones, here’s how you can enable and use spatial audio on your Pixel.

Spatial Audio technology creates the illusion of sounds which provides a theater-like surround sound experience. Google has been testing spatial audio since last September with the Android 13 QPR1 beta 1. The feature is now available to everyone thanks to the new January Pixel update.

Spatial Audio on Pixel phones work with streaming platforms like YouTube, Netflix, HBO Max, and Google TV with movies that have 5.1 or higher audio tracks. Obviously, you can experience the Spatial Audio on your Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 7, or 7 Pro. If you want immersive experience, then you can get it pairing your favorite headphones or earbuds to your Pixel phone.

Apart from the Spatial Audio, Google brings head-tracked Spatial Audio for Pixel Buds Pro. As per the support forum, make sure that your Pixel Buds Pro updated to the newest firmware version.
