iOS 18 has officially arrived with a slew of new features and changes. Customization is the centerpiece attraction of the new iPhone Operating System. From the home screen and lock screen to the control center, you can give a whole new look to your iPhone. For the first time ever, you can fully customize the control center on your iPhone.

For starters, the Control Center lets you navigate to many useful controls including WiFi, Mobile Data, AirDrop, Bluetooth, Torch, and more. iOS 18 brings a major upgrade to the Control Center with three default screens and customization options.

A step in the right direction? Certainly. However, there’s one odd inconsistency that needs attention in future updates. While tapping connectivity icons like WiFi, Airplane Mode, and AirDrop works with a single tap, accessing the cellular data icon in the new Control Center requires two steps. Thanks to customization options, you can set up multiple screens and add or modify controls to the default layout.

Let’s take a look at how to access the new control center on iPhone.

Access Control Center on iPhone

First things first, you need to update your iPhone or iPad to iOS 18 or iPadOS 18. To access the new control center, you can swipe down from the right to open the control center on your iPhone or iPad. As mentioned earlier, there are three screens instead of one.

The first screen gives you access to core tools like connectivity, a small music widget, and other tools. The second screen features an all-new large music player, while the third screen provides access to connectivity options. Additionally, a dedicated Home control screen is available for users with smart home devices connected to their setup.

Step 3: Select the control that you want to add or tap the Search controls option to quickly find your favorite control. You can drag and drop any control or simply tap on it to add it to the control center.

There’s a big list of native controls to add to the control center. Not only this, but you can also add controls from third-party apps like Instagram or Zomato. We can see more third-party app support coming to the control center.

To further customize the control center, you can tap and hold the controls and rearrange as per your preferences. If you want to resize any control, you can tap the gray curved handle in the lower right and drag the handle in the same direction to change the size. You can tap the – icon at the top left corner of the icon to remove the control from the control center.

In the new page you can see the empty area, simply select + icon at the top left corner or tap Add a Control to start adding controls to the page.

Initially, it takes some time to get used to the new Control Center. You might not like it at first, but after a few days, youโ€™ll likely find yourself adjusting to the changes.
