Just like other smart TVs, Sharp TV has a Safe Mode, which is designed to troubleshoot apps and system errors. However, once you enter the Safe Mode, it limits your access to many functionalities. That said, if you are looking for the steps to exit it, read on to learn how to turn off safe mode on Sharp Mode.
For those unfamiliar, Safe Mode is helpful in situations when you are having system errors, app issues, etc. It’s a diagnostic feature that allows your Sharp TV to run only system apps and restricts access to third-party apps and other features. Since it’s primarily used to troubleshoot software issues, if you have activated it by mistake, turning off Safe Mode is straightforward.
While Sharp TV comes with Android/ Google and Roku OS, you will only find the safe mode option in the Google/ Android TV OS as the Roku operating system does not have it.
To enter safe mode on a Sharp TV, navigate to Settings > Device Preferences > About. On Sharp Google TV, head over to System Settings. Look for the Restart option and long-press the OK or select button. Finally, choose Reboot to safe mode, and your TV will reboot then enter the safe mode.
If you don’t see the Reboot to safe mode option, just restart the TV and wait for the Google or Android animation. When you see it, hold down the Volume down button and the TV should boot up in the Safe mode. To confirm it, just check if the safe mode text is written on the bottom of the screen.
How to Turn Off Safe Mode on Sharp TV
Now, that you know the steps to enter safe mode on Sharp Google or Android TV, you might be wondering how to exit it. You can do it either by restarting your TV or power cycling the TV.
Restart the Sharp TV
You can easily exit the safe mode by restarting the TV. Just perform the restart as you usually do. Here’s what you need to do:
Step 1: On the remote control, press the Power button.
Step 2: Once the TV turns off, wait for a few seconds.
Step 3: After waiting a few seconds, press the Power button to turn the TV back on.
Once your TV restarts, it should boot normally without the safe mode. If it’s still booting in the safe mode, head over to the next method.
Power Cycle the TV
While the above method works most of the time, if the TV still boots up in the safe mode, you should try power cycling the Sharp TV. It’s nothing but a restart in addition to unplugging the TV from the source and waiting for about a minute. Here’s how you can do it:
Step 1: Power off your TV and unplug it from the power source.
Step 2: Wait for about a minute or so.
Step 3: After that, plug the TV back into the source and power it on.
Wrapping Up
So, these are the steps you can follow to turn off safe mode on Sharp TV. If the above steps do not work for you in exiting the safe mode, you can try performing a reset on the Sharp TV, but that does come with the cost of erasing all the device data.
