How to Root Nokia 7.1

Rooting is the process that is performed at the system level, and hence, you have access to system-level settings. How to Install TWRP Recovery on Nokia 7.1

Step 1) Transfer the downloaded TWRP image (twrp-3.3.1-0-CTL_sprout.img) to C:\adb. Rename the twrp to twrp.img. Also, transfer the Magisk zip and Magisk Manager to phone storage.

Step 2) Make sure the bootloader is unlocked on your Nokia 7.1.

Step 3) Open Settings on your phone and go to About Phone and tap 7 times on Build Number to turn on Developer Options. Root Nokia 7.1

Step 4) Go back to Settings and then go to System > Developer options. In Developer options, look for USB Debugging and enable it. Root Nokia 7.1

Step 5) Now connect your phone to PC using a USB cable.

Step 6) In C:\adb press Shift + Right-click on an empty area and select ‘Open PowerShell window here’ or ‘Open Command window here’. Root Nokia 7.1

Step 7) In Command/PowerShell window enter the below command and allow for USB Debugging on your phone when it prompt for permission

  • adb devices

Step 8) After allowing USB Debugging enter the below command to Boot Nokia 7.1 into Bootloader mode

  • adb reboot bootloader

Step 9) Once the phone is in bootloader mode enter the following command to boot into TWRP Recovery on Nokia 7.1

  • fastboot boot twrp.img

Step 10) Stay in the TWRP Recovery and follow the next rooting section.


Steps to Root Nokia 7.1

Step 1) Transfer the Magisk.zip to your phone if not already done.

Step 2) In TWRP Recovery, go to Install. Browse and locate the Magisk.zip. Root Nokia 7.1

Step 3) Now swipe the slider to flash Magisk to root Nokia 7.1. Root Nokia 7.1

Step 4) Go back to TWRP home and select Reboot.

Step 5) Choose the System option to reboot into the rooted system. Root Nokia 7.1

Step 6) Now open the Magisk Manager, and if not installed, then install the Magisk Manager APK.

Step 7) In Magisk Manager, update to the latest version if available for more features (you can skip it if you want).

Step 8) Now your phone is successfully rooted your Nokia 7.1.

Now you can use root features like full system backup, change root settings. You can also change boot animations if any custom animation available for your phone. You can remove pre-installed apps that you want to install.
