How to Get Google Assistant on Any Android Lollipop Device Without Root

Google Assistant is now available for Android Lollipop devices through apk. When Google Assistant was released it was only supported for few Nougat devices. Then after some time, it was made available for Android Marshmallow devices and now you can use it on Lollipop devices too. Google Assistant is the best Virtual Assistant for Android so far. In this post, you will know  How to Get Google Assistant on Any Android Lollipop Device Without Root.

Steps To Get The Assistant:

  1. Firstly, Download the Google Assistant APK. After downloading, Go to Device Settings > Security > Enable the Unknown Sources option, and install the APK.
  2. Once the installation process completed launch the APP and set up as you want to use.
  3. If you have a smartphone which comes with onscreen navigation buttons then, go to Settings > Language & Input > Voice Input > Now Choose Enhanced Google services.
  4. Now hold the Home key button and Google Assistant is all yours, use it.

Note: You Need to Upgrade your Google Search App to the Latest Version.

If Your Device Don’t Have On Screen Nav Buttons:

  1. Install any Launcher you want, In my case, I used Action Launcher 3, it is freely available on Play Store Click Here to Download it.
  2. After Installation, Set it as your default launcher, Now go to your Home Screen.
  3. Now you need to create a Widget on your home screen. Choose the Action Launcher Activities Widget, and choose Google Assistant Launcher > .Assist.
  4. Now the shortcut is created on your home screen tap on it to use Google Assistant on your Android Lollipop device.
