How to Enable/Disable ProMotion 120Hz on iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max

The iPhone 13 Series and the iPhone 13 Pro Series finally arrived on September 24. The new flagship devices from Apple have a huge list of new features, the most prominent of which is the 120Hz ProMotion display. Yes, Apple has finally added ProMotion (Apple’s 120Hz refresh rate display technology) to its latest pro models of iPhones, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. And today, we’ll tell you how to enable or disable ProMotion on iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max.

This new display technology increases the smoothness of the animations across the UI, and it also plays an important role when it comes to mobile gaming and high-quality media playback. Also, it adds one more feature that differentiates the Pros from the cheaper, non-Pro iPhones.

However, one of the disadvantages of a higher refresh rate displays is that it chews through the battery of the device. According to Apple, the solution to this problem is that the refresh rate of the display can change dynamically depending upon the content that the user is consuming. So, on the iPhone 13 Pro series, the refresh rate of the display changes dynamically from 10Hz, all the way up to 120Hz depending upon the content that is being consumed. Nevertheless, if you find the 120Hz refresh rate of the iPhone 13 Pro series annoying or battery consuming, you can disable it at any time.

Apple provides users with the option to turn ProMotion off, but we are not sure whether turning off the 120Hz display on the iPhone 13 Pro or Pro Max can improve battery life. However, if you want to turn it off, follow the steps below:

  2. Tap on Accessibility.
  3. Tap on Motion.
  4. Scroll down till you see “Limit Frame Rate“.
