Google Password Manager is an in-built tool in the Chrome browser. It lets users save and manage their passwords across devices. As the name suggests, it simplifies the login process by filling in the password automatically. However, there are many instances when we need to turn it off. Disable Google Password Manager in Chrome
If you are planning to enter the passwords manually, you are good to go. But if you are looking to switch to a different password manager, make sure to export the passwords, as Chrome provides an option to do this.
Just open the browser’s settings and go to Google Password Manager (you will find it under Autofill and Passwords on PC). Choose Settings and select Export Passwords. To turn off Chrome’s in-built password manager, follow the below steps:
Steps for PC
If you have a Mac or Windows PC and want to turn off Chrome’s built-in password manager tool, here are the steps.
Step 1: Open the Google Chrome browser on your PC.
Step 2: Tap on the three-dot icon at the top-right corner and select Settings.
Step 3: Click on Autofill and Passwords from the left sidebar.
Step 4: From the right panel, tap on Google Password Manager.
Step 5: A new window will open; click on Settings from the sidebar.
Step 6: Turn off the toggle for Offer to save passwords and passkeys and Sign in automatically.
Steps for Chrome Mobile App
The steps to disable the Chrome password manager are slightly different for the mobile app. Here’s what you need to do:
Step 1: Open the Chrome app on your Android or iPhone device.
Step 2: Click on the three-dot icon at the top-right corner and select Settings, then choose Google Password Manager. If you have an iPhone device, tap on the three-line icon at the bottom-right corner, then select Password Manager.
Step 3: On an Android device, you will see a Settings tab at the bottom; tap on it.
Step 4: Finally, turn off the toggle next to Offer to save passwords and Auto sign-in.

For this, just navigate to the Passwords either from the PC or mobile app, tap on the password you want to erase, then tap Delete and confirm it.
