Now that you are signed in to Alexa and Blink app, it’s time to set up the connection between your Blink security camera and your Alexa-enabled smart devices. You can link both devices in two different methods. You can initiate the pairing process either using the Blink App or initiate the process directly from the Amazon Alexa app. But in both cases you need to have Blink app as well as Alexa app.

Method 1: Connect Blink Camera to Alexa using Blink App

If you want to initiate the process using the Blink Home Monitor app, you can follow this method. Here are the steps that you need to follow while using the Blink app to link it with the Alexa smart voice assistant.

First off, launch the Blink Home Monitor app on your smartphone and tap on the Settings gear icon.
With the Settings menu on the screen, navigate and select the Account and Privacy option.
There will be an option on the screen that says Link to Alexa. Tap on it.
This action will now ask launch the Alexa app on your smartphone, click on Open.
You should see the Blink Smart Home screen display on the Alexa app. Choose Enable To Use.
Here you will have to enter your Blink account details in order to link your Blink account with Alexa.
The app will also ask you to enter a verification code. The code will be sent to your phone via SMS.

Once the code has been entered and verified, the Alexa app will begin to discover or find your Blink security camera.

Once the cameras have been detected, the app will request that you set up a 4-digit voice code in case of some devices.
This voice code when enabled lets you arm or disarm the security cameras by just giving voice commands to Alexa.

Method 2: Connect Blink Camera to Alexa using Alexa App

You can also start the pairing process directly from the Amazon Alexa app. Yes you still need to have the Blink Home Monitor app set up on your Phone. And if you have both apps completely set up, here’s the process to link Blink camera to Alexa device.

Open the Amazon Alexa app on your Smartphone. Tap the Devices option from the bottom menu.
Now tap the + icon followed by Add Device.
Scroll down and choose Camera. In the next screen select Blink.
It will ask you to setup Blink camera, but since you have already done that, tap the Continue button.
Next it will open the Blink SmartHome skill. Tap, Enable To Use.
It will ask you to sign in with your Blink account that you used to setup Blink Home Monitor app.
Now tap on the Discover Devices, and it will search for Cameras linked to Blink app.
Once it find your Blink camera, you can set up following the on screen instructions. Now your Blink camera is linked to your Alexa devices.
