Apple’s first spatial computer, the Vision Pro, is finally available for purchase. No doubt it is a great device that brings numerous new features and tech to the market. Still, it’s a first-generation product and everyone has different queries related to the device and one of the most common questions is about the battery life of the new Apple Vision Pro.
If you are on the hunt for the battery life details of the new Apple Vision Pro, then you entered the right place, read on to know more.
What is the Battery Life of Apple Vision Pro?
Apple Vision Pro comes with an external battery pack of 3,000mAh capacity, providing support for up to 2 hours of general use or 2.5 hours of video watching when fully charged. Obviously, you can connect the battery pack to the charger for all-day use.
If you have a power bank, then you can simply plug in the Vision Pro’s battery pack to your power bank and use it for longer use.
Apple Vision Pro is now available for purchase and already available to reviewers and YouTubers. Brian Tong, a YouTuber, reviewed the Apple Vision Pro and shared some interesting findings including the battery life details.
Brian Tong shares four insights related to the battery life of the Spatial Computer:
- 2 hrs 26 mins of general use
- 3 hrs 9 mins of video playback
- 1 hr 30 mins to fully charge the battery pack
- 0 to 37% charging in 30 mins
How Long Does It Take to Charge Apple Vision Pro’s External Battery Pack?
The Vision Pro’s battery pack supports a USB-C power adapter rated for 30W or higher. Typically, a 30W charger takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes to fully charge the external battery pack.
In addition to battery life details, Brian reveals that the Vision Pro’s battery takes 30 minutes to charge the external battery pack from 0 to 37%. However, achieving a full charge takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
These numbers shared by Brian are better than the ones promised by Apple. For video playback, Brian tested the device by playing the Avengers: End Game, which is a long movie, fortunately, the headset had a little battery life to spare at the end of the movie.
Brian also confirms that if you want to swap the battery pack, you need to shut down the headset completely and boot it back up. The boot time of Apple Vision Pro is under a minute.
Battery life on VR headsets has not been great for years, and considering the Vision Pro, a first-generation device, expectations should be tempered.
