Excited about the new Harry Potter game? Here you will know Hogwarts Legacy Release Date, Gameplay, System Requirements, and more.

Harry Potter fans around the world are excited for the new game which is coming soon. Well, yes there have been a lot of Harry Potter games over the past years. You’ve had film adaptation ones and others that are totally different from the film series. The first Harry Potter game was released way back in 2001 for PC, Xbox, PS1, PS2, and Gamecube. Since then, the games have made their way to various platforms as newer games were being released. Every console generation had a minimum of at least two new Harry Potter games. Here is everything we know about the new game Hogwarts Legacy.

The only latest titles in the Harry Potter games were a match 3 puzzle game which obviously didn’t please a lot of Harry Potter fans. Anyways, Avalanche Software has taken up the project of bringing out Hogwarts Legacy to Harry Potter fans. The game will be published by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. With that being said let’s take a look at the Hogwarts Legacy release date, trailer, gameplay, system requirements, and other details.

Hogwarts Legacy Release Date

Hogwarts Legacy Release Date

Hogwarts Legacy was announced in 2020 during the PS5 launch event. The game was supposed to be released somewhere in 2021, but with everything happening around, the game has been shifted to be released in 2022. The game’s official Twitter account revealed that the game will be released next year. However, there is no fixed date yet.

Hogwarts Legacy Trailer

The trailer for Hogwarts Legacy was revealed during the PS5 launch event. What does the trailer showcase? We get a view of the cinematic world of Hogwarts. We also get to see some of the things you as a player will be able to do. From brewing various potions, taming creatures, playing around with magic, and of course, attending lectures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay

Apart from the reveal trailer, the developers have not shown the public initial gameplay nor does the game have a store page on any platform including Steam. What we do know so far is that the game is an open-world single-player RPG game that is set in Hogwarts of the 1800s. What this means is that you will not find the usual characters from Harry Potter. That clearly means Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley will not be seen in the game. Since the game has been set in a time period before the original stories of the author J.K Rowling.

Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay

You will be playing as a student who attends the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to go on a journey as dangerous as it can be. The journey leads you to discover the secrets of the wizarding world. And, as seen in the trailer, you will be able to play around with potions, mastering spells, and taming some beasts too. You get to choose between becoming a witch or a wizard.

As your skill improve, your character will increase its abilities, have combat skills, and even chose companions who will then help to fight around with enemies in the game. There will be a lot of missions and other quests for you to complete which have difficult choices and will be based on what you stand for. You will even be able to choose your own Hogwarts house as well. Since this is a game that does not adapt from any of the books or movies, you can expect some new locations, characters, and story elements that are completely new and unheard of. Apart from being able to play only at Hogwarts Castle, you will also be able to play in the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village.

Hogwarts Legacy Platform Availability

Thankfully enough, the game will be available on the old and new generation consoles. To put it this way, the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will be getting the game. Since it is a game that is expected to be released next year, we hope to see the game enter cloud platform services such as Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, and Nvidia’s GeForce Now. And, with the Steam Deck getting ready to be shipped later this year, we hope that it can be played on the Steam Deck as well.

Hogwarts Legacy System Requirements

The game will be playable in 4K 60 on the PS5 and at least at a higher framerate on the Xbox Series X|S. With regards to PC, well there is no information available anywhere. Though we hope to see the game run fine on mid-spec systems from 2017 or 2018 for that matter. Once the game’s listing appears on Steam or whichever platform they plan to release for on PC, we will have a good idea of what specs will be required to run the game easily.

While the game is yet to see an official listing and a release date, a lot of people are hoping for a few things to be in the game. For example, Photo Mode. Photo Mode is a great tool to use to take photos in such worlds that look outstanding. And, taking pictures in Hogwarts Legacy would also mean being able to capture the wonderful wizard and magical world of Hogwarts. It would be fun taking pictures of various beasts that are being tamed as well as the interiors of the Hogwarts School. There are also a few people who are hoping to see multiplayer modes in this game. Like maybe getting to co-op and battle out against various enemies and even take a look at player’s houses and tamed beasts as well.

Conclusion

With this being all the information that we have on the game, we hope to see Avalanche share out more information with the public as well as nice walkthrough gameplay to show off the magical world of Hogwarts. With just a few months left for the year to come to an end, we hope that a fixed release date will be revealed soon. Even other games under the publisher Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment have been pushed to 2022.
