HMD Global now rolls out Android 11 update to the Nokia 4.2

For the past few days, HMD Global is rolling out the Android 11 update for a bunch of Nokia smartphone. Nokia 2.3, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 8.1, and Nokia 8.3 5G joined the club of Android 11. Now the update lands on the Nokia 4.2 with a bunch of new features, improvements, and bugs fixes. The device is getting its second major OS upgrade in the form of Android 11 update. Here’s everything you need to know about the Nokia 4.2 Android 11 Update.

Nokia 4.2 was launched back in 2019 with Android Pie 9.0 OS. Last year, it received the first major OS update in the form of Android 10. Now the second big update – the Android 11 update arrives with V3.150 software version and measures around 1.50GB of size for downloading. As it is a major update, it requires a big chunk of internet data for downloading, I suggest you to connect to your smartphone to a stable Wi-Fi connection for faster downloading.

The latest update on the Nokia 4.2 comes with the March 2021 monthly security patch. Talking about the changes, then the Android 11 update come with features such as Chat Bubbles, change in Notification panel & volume controls, improved performance, and many other features. As per the details shared by the company, the first batch of staged rollout goes live for a bunch of countries including – Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, the USA, and more.

According to the information shared by Nokia, the update is seeding to the 10% of phones in the first batch. While the 50% of phones will get the update till 10th April and 100% till 12th April.

If you’re using the Nokia 4.2, then you may have already received the update. But if not then you don’t have to wait much if your region is in the Wave 1 list. Sometimes users don’t receive updates through notification so make sure to check it manually by going to Settings > System > Software Update.

Before updating your smartphone, make sure to take a backup of important data and charge your device to at least 50%.
