Google rolls out the Android 13 QPR3 Beta 2.1 for Pixel phones

Google has just released another incremental beta of Quarterly Platform Releases for the Pixel phones. The newer comes labeled as the Android 13 QPR3 beta 2.1, comes almost one week after the second beta. Today’s release is a minor incremental update rolling with the modem updates for Pixel phones. The new software is seeding to the eligible Pixel devices with T3B2.230316.005 build number. As it is a small incremental upgrade, you can quickly install it on your smartphone. This one weighs around 7.7MB in size. This build is still based on the March 2023 monthly security patch. We can expect the next build with a newer security patch.

For eligibility, the new update is available for Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro.

This minor update to Android 13 QPR3 Beta 2 includes the following improvements:

  • Modem updates

If your Pixel is already running on a QPR build then you will receive it over-the-air. If you are on the stable Android 13 update, then you need to join the Android beta program to try out the new software, you can head over to the Android Beta Program website and enroll in the beta program, once enrolled you can update your phone to latest Android 13 QPR release.

You can also manually sideload the upgrade your phone to the beta, visit this page to download the Factory images and this page to get the OTA files. Make sure to take a backup before sideloading the new software.
