Android 13 is available for a couple of months now in Developer Preview. And after two successful Developer Previews, the first beta of Android 13 is here. Google has already released the Android 13 roadmap earlier this year and as per the roadmap Android 13 beta 1 goes live for eligible Pixel phones in time. Letโ€™s find out what’s new in the Android 13 Beta 1.

Android 12 was a big update in Android history and we can not expect that much of changes in at least the next few Android updates. Still, Android 13 is an important update with many new features. Since Google already rolled out two developer previews, we already know most of the new Android 13 features that you can read here.

The Android 13 reached the beta phase with the release of its first Android 13 Beta. It will be more stable than developer previews and anyone with supported Pixel phones (Pixel 4 or newer) can enjoy the latest beta. Android 13 Beta 1 comes with build number TPB1.220310.029.

Apart from the already available features like new notification permission, photo picker, themed app icons, improved localization and language support, and more, Beta 1 includes some new features as well. Android 13 beta 1 new features are new ways for allowing permission of shared media, Anticipatory audio routing, and more. Yes, it only brings a few changes over the Developer Preview build.

All you need to do is enroll for the Android 13 beta program from this link and you will receive the Android 13 Beta 1 as an OTA update. And if you are already using the Developer Preview build then you will get the update without doing anything.

Moving to the eligibility criteria, the Android 13 is eligible for Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 4a, Pixel 4 XL, and Pixel 4.

If you own any of these phones and want to taste the new features of Android 13, then you can also manually upgrade your smartphone to the first beta. You can download the Android 13 first beta build fromย this page.
