Google announced Android 12L in October, where the tech giant mentioned the Android 12L beta would start in December. And as they promised, the Android 12L beta for Pixel phones is finally here. A few days ago it was also released for the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro tablet. Since this is a beta update, it will be available only to users who enroll in the beta program.
Android 12L is specially designed for devices of different form factors including foldable, tablets, Chromebooks. So if you’ve got a bigger display device, Android 12L will make things easier. Android 12L follows the same Material design as Android 12, but with additional features for larger displays such as better multitasking, apps compatibility for larger screens, optimized system UI, and more.
Along with the December 2021 Pixel Feature Drop, Google has released the Android 12L Beta for Pixel phones. You can know all the goodies of Pixel Feature Drop here. The Android 12L Beta 1 comes with new features and changes that Google mentioned in the Developer Preview announcement. The list of features includes two column layout for easier interaction, drag, and drop for split mode, and more.
The Android 12L Beta 1 is available for select Pixel Phones. Pixel 3a and newer Pixels are eligible for the Android 12L Beta. And if you have an eligible phone and want to test the optimized OS, you can get the beta on your phone.
In October, Google mentioned that Android 12L beta would also be available for Pixel devices. And Google had also suggested opting out for Android 12 beta if you don’t want to get Android 12L beta. This means that if you have enrolled for Android 12 beta and haven’t opted out, you will receive Android 12L beta on your Pixel phone. And those who wish to enroll for Android 12L can enroll for the beta anytime.
