Google Gemini App with Gemini Live Now on iPhone

Google Gemini is a full fledged AI assistant app which has chatbot along with Gemini Live. The app was earlier available on Android, but now it is available on iPhone as well. With this app, iPhone users with devices not eligible for Apple Intelligence can still enjoy features like AI powered Siri.

Google Gemini can be the perfect replacement for standard Siri, as the Gemini app offers call-like experience along with chat feature. The app including Gemini Live is free, yes you can also get the advanced version with a subscription for latest AI models.

Gemini app for iOS

Currently the Gemini for iPhone is available in limited regions including Australia, India, US, UK and Philippines. But it should expand to more regions soon.

iPhone users have had access to the Gemini chatbot through the Google app for some time. However the standalone app and Gemini Live were not available. Gemini Live is like ChatGPT’s voice app.

The main highlight of the Gemini app is Gemini Live. You can ask Live for any queries, as if you are having a conversation with someone.

To access Gemini Live, install and open the app. At the bottom right corner you will see a magic voice button, tap on it. In Gemini Live, you can choose the voice you want to continue. Gemini Live can help with every query you have.

While the Gemini Chatbot connects to your Google workspace to bring information relevant to your account directly into the app, Gemini Live does not yet support connecting to Google workspace.

The Gemini app supports the Dynamic Island feature and works even in the lock screen. So you can voice chat with your Gemini assistant without unlocking your iPhone.

As far as compatibility goes, the app works on iOS 16 and newer builds. This means most iPhone users can get the Google Gemini app on their device.

Apple has not yet released all announced Siri features on compatible models, but users don’t have to wait long to experience AI chat and voice assistant. Google Gemini is just as powerful as Siri, if not better, but once all the Siri features are available, it will be even better in terms of integration.
