Galaxy Tab A9 Joins the One UI 6.1 Club: What’s New?

If you have been following the One UI 6.1 news, you must be aware of the goodies that come with the update. The One UI 6.1 is a big update packed with so many new useful features. All eligible flagship and most of the budget phones have already received the update. Samsung has released One UI 6.1 for one more budget device, the Galaxy Tab A9.

Samsung is doing a fine job rolling out the latest One UI update for its Galaxy phones. However there is one complaint that budget phones don’t get Galaxy AI with the update, while the update shipped with Galaxy AI features for flagship devices.

The Galaxy Tab A9 is also a budget tablet and does not get Galaxy AI features with this update. But still, the update carries many new features that will make your device better and interesting.

The One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy Tab A9 is rolling out in Europe with firmware build X115XXU2BXE2. This is a big update for the device and weighs around 1.5GB. So make sure to use WiFi for downloading the update.

The update was confirmed by a user through a post on the Samsung community page. The screenshot provided by the user confirms that the update comes with the April 2024 Android security patch.

We don’t have the complete changelog yet, but the features will be mostly similar to other budget tablets. Check out this page to learn about changelog.

If you have a Galaxy Tab A9, you will receive One UI 6.1 in OTA format. Sometimes, the update notification doesn’t work, so make sure to look for the update manually. You can check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

Samsung launched the budget A9 tablet last year with Android 13 based One UI 5.1. So this is the second big update for the device. The device is expected to get OS updates for the next one or two years.
