Samsung is unstoppable and everyone is in awe of the work Samsung is doing. After rolling out stable Android 13 to a bunch of Galaxy phones last week, Samsung started the week with the One UI 5 update for the Galaxy S20 FE. Yes, the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition has started receiving the stable Android 13 update before the Galaxy S21 FE. Here’s everything you need to know about the update.
This comes as no surprise as Samsung has already rolled out the update for mid range phones like Galaxy A52, Galaxy M32 5G, Galaxy M52 5G, Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro, and Galaxy A73. Earlier this month, Samsung also shared the official One UI 5 roadmap for different regions. And according to various roadmaps, the Galaxy S20 FE was planned to receive the update in November, at least for some regions. As planned, Samsung is now rolling out Android 13 based stable One UI 5 update for Galaxy S20 FE.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Android 13 update is rolling out in Russia. And soon the update will be available in other regions. But it may take more than a month for the update to be available to all. The update is available with build number G780FXXUAEVK3. This is the second major update for the Galaxy S20 FE and weighs more than other monthly updates. So make sure to use WiFi to download the update.
Talking about new features and changes, the update brings a lot of changes including some changes in UI. Some of the main features are improved animations, new and big widgets, more color palette for the Material You, improved clipboard, per app language, improved privacy and security, and a bunch of other changes. Changes are going to be the same as the update for other Galaxy devices, so you can check the common changelog here. Also the update improves the Android Security Update to November 2022.
If you are a Galaxy S20 FE user in Russia, you can expect the OTA update soon. It will soon be available in other regions as well. Since the availability for each region doesn’t take time, you can check for the update manually in intervals from Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Once the update is available, download the update using WiFi and install it.
Update – December 6
The Android 13 update for Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Exynos is now available in most regions. And Galaxy S20 FE LTE Snapdragon variant is also getting stable Android 13 and One UI 5 update. If you own the LTE variant expect the same changelog as other Galaxy S20 FE models.
Before updating your phone to Android 13 update, don’t forget to take backup of important data and charge your phone to at least 50%.
