Samsung has started testing Android 15 based One UI 7 for Galaxy A53 internally, as its test firmware was recently spotted on servers. This is the first internal test firmware for the device.
The test firmware for Galaxy A53 was spotted with firmware version A536BXXUDFXK2/A536BOXMDFXK2/A536BXXUDFXK2. Thanks to Tarun Vats, who found the test firmware on Samsung’s server.
As we get closer to the One UI 7.0 stable release, more test and beta firmware builds for other Galaxy phones are expected to appear as well. These firmware sightings help users track the progress of internal testing.
The Galaxy A53 is a two year old device launched with Android 12 based One UI 4 update. This means the Android 15 based One UI 7 will be the third major update for the budget phone. Since the phone is eligible for four major updates, it will also receive Android 16 and One UI 8.
However, the fact that the Galaxy A53 Android 15 test firmware has been spotted doesn’t mean its public beta is guaranteed. Samsung may directly release stable build for A53 next year after internal testing.
The One UI 7.0 public beta could release as early as this week starting with the Galaxy S24 series. The public beta may be released for few more devices in coming weeks, but not necessarily for the Galaxy A53.
Talking about the stable One UI 7, it will be released with the Galaxy S25 series launch. The update will be first rolled out to Galaxy S24 series and later all eligible models will receive the major One UI 7.0 update. If Samsung keeps the pace as last year, Galaxy A53 should get the stable One UI 7.0 update in the first quarter of 2025.
