How to Download & Install Fonts on Samsung Galaxy Devices (Any Font)

Samsung Galaxy devices have an ability to customize to modify the user interface whether it is a font, wallpapers, themes, icon, or customization in the lock screen. Both the TouchWiz and the new One UI comes with an option to change the theme or other customizations manually. One of the best things about the Samsung Galaxy devices is, you may don’t need the root access. And if you want to change the font on your phone, here’s the step by step guide to install any font on Samsung Galaxy devices.

Recently, Samsung adds an option to download the paid and free fonts directly from the Galaxy Store. It is an easy way to install any font on the device, but there are very few free fonts available in the store. Fortunately, there’s an option to manually download and install the fonts from other apps as well. So, follow the below-listed instructions to install fonts on any Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

There are numerous fonts available on the web, you can simply search the font name in the Galaxy store. If it is not available then, you can search on the web and download the font. Make sure the font is in Truetype font (.ttf). So, download the fonts from below apps or websites.

How to Install Fonts on Samsung Galaxy Devices?

Samsung gives an option to change the font from the settings. Yes, you can choose the downloaded or the inbuilt fonts from settings and the app. From the above section, you can download your favorite font and then follow the below method to install it on your Galaxy device. Here’s how to install the font:

  • At first, download the font (in .ttf format), then store it in your device.
  • Now Go to System Settings > Display > Font and Screen zoom > select the font.
  • Select the font you want, from the Galaxy store or internal storage.
  • Then, click on the apply button.
  • That’s it.

Note: The method is working on almost all the Samsung Galaxy devices running on Android Nougat, Oreo, or Pie. We tested the above methods on Galaxy J5, J7, A50, S8, S9+, and the new S10.

This is a simple way, to download and install any font on the Samsung Galaxy device. You can enjoy using your phone with the new font.

    Since my s8 running android 9 updated on 1st March 19, I lost product sans font. Now whenever I download Google sans font apk, it says App Not Installed. Any help appreciated as I loved this font on my phone.

    • Hey Dan,

      You can try this method to install Google Sans Font on your S9 running on Android Pie.

      At first, Download this app (which is an uninstall sans APK) and run it.
      Now reboot your smartphone.
      Then, try installing the Google Sans apk.
      Reboot the device again & set the Sans font.
      That’s it.
