The Camera2 API support is the basic requirement for sideloading the Google Camera on any Android smartphone. Thanks to the Camera2 API, you can easily install the GCam on your TCL smartphone. Below we attach two different GCam versions – GCam 7.3 by Urnyx05 and GCam 8.1 by BSG, both apps are compatible with the TCL 20S and 20L+. Here are the download links.

After downloading and installing, make sure to follow the below listed recommended settings on your phone, by which you can take amazing shots easily without crashes the app.

Note: Before Installing the new Gcam Mod ported app, make sure to delete the older version (if you’ve installed). This is not a stable version of Google Camera, so it may have some bugs.

For GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.0.apk

  1. At first, download this config file on your smartphone.
  2. Now create a new folder with GCam name.
  3. Open GCam folder and create one more folder with configs7 name.
  4. Now paste the config file inside the configs7 folder.
  5. Once done, Open the Google Camera app and double tap on the black blank area placed next to the shutter button.
  6. Tap on the settings shown (with tcl20s-config.xml), available in the popup & press the restore button.
  7. Go back to the app drawer and then open the app again.

There’s no need to do much changes in the latest GCam 8.1 mod port, although you can do some changes according to your needs from the settings section.

  1. At first download the app from above-listed links.
  2. After downloaded, head over to the settings then enable the Unkown Sources.
  3. Now Install the Google Camera.
  4. Once done, open the app and allow the app permissions if any needed.
  5. That’s it.
