The expectations for Poco F-series phones are always high, thanks to the enduring popularity of the Poco F1. Now, the company has upgraded the F-series with two new mid-rangers: the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro. Apart from the brighter screen and Snapdragon 8-series chipsets, the camera is one of the centerpiece attractions of the two phones.

Poco F6 is billing with a 50MP Sony IMX 882 snapper which is almost the same sensor as the Sony LYT600 with 1/1.95″ size and 0.8-micron pixels. Meanwhile, the Pro model dawns a 50MP OmniVision OVX8000 with 1/1.55โ€ and 1.0-micron pixel size. This results in noticeable differences in camera performance, with the Pro variant capturing photos with more accurate colors, skin tones, and overall better handling.

Whether you own the Poco F6 or the Poco F6 Pro, you can further enhance camera quality using the Google Camera (GCam) mod port, now known as the Pixel Camera app. After testing various ports, we’ve found several compatible with the new F-series phones. Here, you can download the Google Camera for Poco F6 and F6 Pro.

Both Poco F6 series phones capture decent photos in daylight and low light. However, the standard Poco F6’s camera struggles with skin tones and faces, whereas the Pro model excels. The ultra-wide-angle lens is an 8MP Sony IMX 355 snapper on both phones and it performs well in most cases.

If you want to capture photos with better HDR, colors, skin tones, better portrait shots, and more detailed photos through all sensors, simply switch to the GCam mod port. It offers better performance when compared to the stock camera app on the Poco F6 series phones. The best thing is, there are many GCam ports that work compatible with the F6 phones, including the latest GCam 9.1.

The app support features like Night Sight mode, Astrophotography, SloMo, HDR Enhanced, RAW support, Google Lens, and more. Now letโ€™s take a look at the steps on how to download and install the Google Camera app on Poco F6 series.
