The chief product officer of HMD Global Juho Sarvikas tweeted about the Android Pie update for Nokia 2.1. So its a good news for Nokia 2.1 users that they will get to experience Android Pie limited features like Adaptive brightness, better Battery management. Its good to see that Android Go phones are also getting updates, it means soon we will see Android updates for mostly all the phones. Nokia 2.1 is an Android Go phone and so the update will be of small size.

All the features of Android 9 Pie will be available on the device after the OTA update. So if you haven’t received the update follow the guide given below. Nokia 2.1 is receiving the update before Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 which are expected to receive updates in end March 2019.

Nokia 2.1 – Details

It is a budget Android Go smartphone. Nokia 2.1 also known as Nokia 2 (2018). It features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display with 16:9 aspect ratio. It is powered with Quad-core based Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. Nokia 2.1 comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal storage with MicroSD support up to 128GB on the dedicated slot.

Out of the box, Nokia 2.1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. On the camera side, it has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash. And in front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. As it is an Android Go edition phone it is loaded with applications with Go version. It boasts with a massive 4000mAh battery which can easily last at least a day.

Some Nokia 2.1 users have already received the Android Pie update. The update size is around 825MB. Digital wellbeing is not included in the update. With Android Pie update the battery life on Nokia 2.1 will be better than Android Oreo. The latest security patch of February 2019 is including which is a huge benefit.   • Open Settings on your Nokia 2.1.
  • Go to About Phone > System Update.
  • And then tap on check for updates.
  • Download the Android Pie Update.
  • After downloading tap on Reboot Now.

After reboot, you can use Android 9 Pie on your Nokia 2.1.
