iPhone 16e is the newest entrant to the iPhone 16 series. The new iPhone is targeted to those users who want an iPhone that does the basic stuff such as FaceTime and iMessage. As it is with Apple, you get a good SoC, a full-screen experience with the notch, and of course Apple intelligence tools.
Does the iPhone 16e have the Camera Control Button?
Nope. The new iPhone 16e does not come with the Camera Control button, It seems like a fair decision considering that this is a phone that is termed as a budget iPhone by Apple itself. Since the iPhone 16e comes with just a single 48MP fusion rear camera, the need for a Camera Control button seems pointless.
While the Camera Control button is not on the iPhone 16e, it does come with the Action button. The Action buttons debuted with the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. You can configure the Action button on the new iPhone 16e to take pictures using the Camera app.
Since the iPhone 16e incorporates the styling and design cues from older iPhones like the iPhone 14, the iPhone 16e internally is similar to that of the iPhone 16 series that was launched in 2024.
What is new on the iPhone 16e is Apple’s first-ever in-house modem, the Apple C1. The new chip is slated to give users an even better battery life thanks to Apple’s tweaks and software optimization.

The iPhone 16e is the perfect device for those who want a new Apple device at a not-very steep price tag. This is also good for the older members of the family who want to stay in touch with their friends and other family members via FaceTime and iMessage.
Will the next iteration of the e-Series iPhone get the Camera Control button? It might, if Apple decides to ever go with a rear dual camera setup on its budget lineup of iPhones. This is something that only Apple knows. But, to keep the iPhone in its current price bracket, having an additional camera is just going to increase the device’s price tag.
If you want the Camera Control button, it would be ideal to wait for the prices of the ongoing iPhone 16 series to drop or see if you can manage an iPhone 16 series device from the second-hand market.
