After months of leaks and rumors, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy S25 series at yesterdayโs Unpacked event. The company’s latest smartphone lineup consists of three smartphones: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and the expensive Galaxy S25 Ultra.
While the look and design of these smartphones are very similar to their respective predecessors, Samsung has upgraded them from the inside. Not to mention, you are in for a treat with tons of new AI features and a smooth software experience, with One UI 7 out of the box.
Plus, all three devices from the Galaxy S25 lineup see considerable specs bump this year. However, itโs unfortunate that Samsung didnโt push much on the charging department, specifically wireless charging.
Does the Galaxy S25 support wireless charging?
Yes, the Galaxy S25 series comes with wireless charging support out of the box. All three models support fast wireless charging 2.0, which can charge the device at speeds up to 15W with a compatible charger.
While the latest flagship series supports wireless charging, itโs advisable to use the wired charging option more frequently.

Does the Galaxy S25 series come with MagSafe or Qi2 wireless charging support?
When Samsung announced that it was finally adopting the Qi2 wireless charging standard with the Galaxy S25 yesterday, it mentioned the devices are โQi Ready.โ However, hereโs a friendly reminder not to confuse โQi2 Readyโ with “Qi2 Certified.” The Galaxy S25 lineup of devices doesn’t officially support the Qi2 wireless charging on their own. The series does not have built-in magnets.
Also, all three devices from the Galaxy S25 series don’t come with MagSafe charging support. Apple helped develop the Qi2 standard, which is essentially the next generation of Qi wireless charging.
The new standard was supposedly the way to bring Appleโs MagSafe ecosystem to Android devices. Well, that was something promised earlier, but the whole Qi2 situation is quite complicated.

Can I still charge my Galaxy S25 series with Qi2 wireless chargers?
Although the Galaxy S25 series doesnโt officially support Qi2, you can still charge them using Qi2 wireless chargers, with a simple yet expensive workaround. All you need is the latest official โMagnet Case,โ which is up for grabs in Samsungโs online store.
Pairing that case with the Galaxy S25, 25+, and S25 Ultra allows you to wirelessly charge them with Qi2 wireless chargers at a maximum speed of 15W. Yes, that’s the same charging speed you’d get when you charge the latest smartphones using a regular Qi wireless charger.
However, the key difference is in the charging process: Qi2 promises faster and more efficient wireless charging. So, it’s up to you whether you want to spend a little extra to get a Magnet Case and make your Galaxy S25 ready for Qi2 wireless charging.

Are there any official Qi2 wireless chargers for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series?
WITS, a company that acquired Samsung Electronics’ wireless charging division, has already made a 3-in-1 Qi2 wireless charger and a Qi2 wireless car charger for Samsung. Both are capable of charging your Galaxy S25 phones at a maximum speed of 15W.
Please note that both charging accessories have yet to be officially announced; the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) website has certificates (1) (2) for both devices, including their images, as seen below. So, it’s just a matter of time before you have Samsung’s Qi2 charging accessories.
