CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, has launched its first smartphone, CMF Phone 1. As per the brand, the CMF name is an acronym for Color, Material, and Finish. The first phone also defines the same by offering customization features inside out. You can change the rear of the phone whenever you want.
CMF Phone 1 does come with some good features considering its price. The phone has a 50MP rear camera, Mediatek Dimension 7300 5G Processor, AMOLED Display, 5000 mAh Battery, and more. Unfortunately it lacks NFC, which is used for wireless transactions and more.
Another limitation is that the phone is available in only one storage variant in the US. It comes with 128GB storage coupled with 8GB RAM. While all the other specs and features in the device are great, this is where it might disappoint more users. Yes, the CMF Phone 1 have an SD card slot, which you can use to expand your device storage to up to 2TB. Now, this is something impressive, as you will not see such a huge limit on any other phone in this price range.
However, the phone only has a hybrid slot, meaning you can either insert 2 SIMs or 1 SIM + 1 SD card at a time. So, if you want to insert an SD card into CMF Phone 1, you will have to remove one SIM card if you are using two SIM. But if you only use one SIM, you don’t have to worry about anything before inserting the microSD card.
microSD Card is a better investment than going for the higher variant if you keep a lot of files, photos, videos, etc. But if you install a lot of apps that go beyond the base storage, then the higher storage variant is a better option.
Nowadays, 128GB is less even for general users. This is because we want high quality photos, videos which take up a lot of storage space. Also many users consume video stories which are stored as cache and take up a lot of space.
