The Dishonored franchise has been quiet for some time after its last two games, Dishonored 2 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Dishonored 3 will be a sequel to the 2017 Dishonored: Death of the Outsider game. At least according to the big Microsoft leak that took place in 2023, fans can expect Arkane Studios to be working on the upcoming game as they did with the previous Dishonored games.

Now, it is tough to confirm when the game is slated for release since there have been no official announcements made by the developers. However, one could expect the game to be released either in 2025 or even 2026 – it all depends on what stage the developers are at for the game.

It is safe to say that the upcoming Dishonored 3 will be released on Sony’s PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and of course on PC via Steam and probably the Epic Games Store. If you are a cloud gamer kind of person, then you can expect the new Dishonored to be available on Nvidia’s GeForce now and on the Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming service.

A lot of fans of the Dishonored franchise think that it’s unlikely that the game will ever see the day of light. Simply because Arkane Studios, the Dishonored franchise’s developers, have been working on Marvel Cinematic Universe games. And if Microsoft now decides that there will be more Marvel games or simply decides to close down Arkane Studios, then it’s the end of the road for the Dishonored franchise.

Currently, the developers are working on the upcoming Marvel’s Blade game, which is set for a 2026/2027 release date. So the idea of Dishonored 3 ever happening is next to impossible. However, one can always hope and wait to see if Dishonored 3 ever comes out.
