Oppo kicks off ColorOS 12 Beta for Oppo F17 Pro, F19 Pro, Reno4 F, Reno5 F

Android 12 is the latest version of Android which is available to the public. And on Oppo phones, it is available with ColorOS 12. Since the ColorOS 12 update is still new, a lot of phones are yet to get it. Today, Oppo started rolling out Android 12 based ColorOS 12 beta for Oppo F17 Pro, Oppo F19 Pro, Oppo Reno 4 F, and Oppo Reno 5 F. Here you check how to get the ColorOS 12 Beta on your Oppo phone.

Earlier this month, Oppo shared the ColorOS 12 rollout plan. And as per the roadmap, Oppo starts providing ColorOS 12 to all four phones on the promised date. Remember this is a beta rollout and not an official stable rollout.

ColorOS 12 beta for the mentioned devices is available in different regions. ColorOS 12 beta is available in India for Oppo F17 Pro and Oppo F19 Pro while it is available in Indonesia for the other two phones. It will be available in other regions later.

The ColorOS 12 Beta program will let you try new changes and features before its release to the public. You can test the Android 12 and give feedback based on your experience. In terms of features, you can expect most of the Android 12 and ColorOS 12 features. Some of these features include improved UI, 3D textured icons, Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. You can also access the essentials of Android 12.

As usual, the Android 12 based ColorOS 12 Beta is open for a limited number of users. In numbers, it is 2500 users for each device. And this will be given in first come first serve criteria if the device is running on the required version. Below you can find the requirements which are required before applying for ColorOS Beta.

  • Take a full backup of your phone
  • Charge your phone to at least 50%
  • Update to the detectable version (C.34 for F17 Pro & Reno 4 F, A.27/A.29 for Reno 5 F, A.28/A.29 for F19 Pro)

As this is a beta update, there can be bugs so we don’t recommend installing it on your primary phone unless you don’t mind bugs. And if you have any of the four phones as a secondary device then you can apply for the beta without any doubt.

If you are interested in trying the ColorOS 12 beta on your Oppo phone then you can apply for it following the given steps.

  1. At first, Open the Settings app on your Oppo phone.
  2. Now head over to the Software update and click on the gear icon listed on the top-right corner.
  3. Now tap on Apply for Beta version > Update Beta Version.
  4. Enter the required details and submit the application.

Now your application has been submitted successfully. If there’s an empty slot (2500 seats) in the beta program, then you’ll receive the update within the 3 days.
