ColorOS 11 hits the Oppo A5 2020 and Oppo A9 2020 via Beta Program

The Chinese smartphone OEM – Oppo has been working to bring its newest ColorOS skin to the older phones. Recently, the company has started testing the update on the Oppo Reno Z and Oppo A73 5G. Now it’s a time for some A-series phones, this time, company opens up the ColorOS 11 beta program for the Oppo A5 2020 and Oppo A9 2020. The latest ColorOS 11 is based on Android 11 update, here’s everything you need to know about ColorOS 11 Beta Update for Oppo A5 2020 and Oppo A9 2020.

As always, Oppo opens up the beta program to select regions only. Yes, if you’re using the Oppo A5 2020 or Oppo A9 2020 in India or Indonesia, then you can take a part to the beta testing program. Also, the company recommend users to upgrade their smartphone to at least C.74/C.75 software version. The beta update will be open till 21st April 2021 for limited users, if you got selected, then you’ll receive the ColorOS 11 beta via special OTA.

ColorOS 11 based Android 11 beta update will bag a bunch of new features, visual changes, improvements, and enhanced privacy options. In terms of features, the latest ColorOS skin carries Super Power Saving Mode, FlexDrop, Oppo Sans font, three-finger gesture to translate from Google Lens, Nearby Sharing, and a slew of customizations to the Dark Mode, Always-On Display, Wallpapers, Ringtones, and Icons.

Not only this, but the update also packs a slew of basic features of Android 11. Apart from these changes, the newer build will also bump up the monthly security patch version number.

Oppo A5 2020 & Oppo A9 2020 ColorOS 11 Beta Update

Recently, Oppo shared the ColorOS 11 beta roadmap for the month of April. And as per the changelog, the afore-listed models are scheduled to receive the latest update. The company has fulfilled its promise by started testing its newest skin on time.

If you’re using the Oppo A5 2020 or Oppo A9 2020 and want to get access of latest update, then make sure that your smartphone is running on the newer version (C.74 / C.75 to be precise).

Here’s how you can participate in the ColorOS 11 trail program.

  1. Connect your phone to the Internet and Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Go to Software Update. Tap the Settings on the screen.
  3. Then select Apply for Beta > Update Beta version.
  4. And then complete the steps that it asks.

As I said earlier, after filling the Android 11 beta form, officials will review your application and within a week you may get the Android 11 Beta update. If you didn’t make in the first batch then wait for the second batch.
