Borderlands: a game that instantly brings to mind a fun 4-player shooter experience. Well, we have seen several Borderlands games in the past, and there is a new one on the horizon. Borderlands 4 has been officially announced and is set to return with a bang. Looter Shooter fans get ready to enjoy Borderlands 4 with many improvements across the board. Borderlands is a successful game series, but it need a new major update as last game was released in 2019.

Borderlands 4: Release Date
Borderlands 4 was announced at the Gamesconn 2024 event that took place from August 21. While there has been speculation about the game being delayed into 2026 or being released in September, it has now come to light that the developers have provided a fixed release date. Borderlands 4 is now set to be released on September 12, 2025.
Borderlands 4: Gameplay and Trailer
Your role in Borderlands 4 is to play the role of one of the four new Vault Hunters who have to seek wealth and glory in Kairos. Your goal is to take down the ruthless tyrant who is ruling a new planet. You need to upgrade your skills with the deeply integrated skill tree set and take down all the enemies. Of course, just like the previous Borderlands games, you will have access to a lot of weapons that can be earned from various loot and upon upskilling your build.

Borderlands 4: Multiplayer and Game Engine
If you look at the Borderlands 4 Steam page, you will notice that it just talks about what it takes for you, as the player, to be the legendary Vault Hunter on your journey to hunt for secret alien treasure. Additionally, the game will continue with the online four-player co-op mode, which has been a staple across the Borderlands franchise.
Big improvements to the game are expected to come in the form of game physics and graphics. The developers have been using Unreal Engine 7 as the game engine for Borderlands 4. With such improvements, you can expect slightly higher system requirements for the game when compared to Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 4: Supported Platforms
Take Two, the publisher behind the Borderlands 4 game has revealed in its wire post that the game will be available for PC as well as new generation consoles. Sorry, PS4 and Xbox One, the Borderlands journey comes to an end for you.
