The game begins with a cut scene that later on takes you to customize your character. Here you are able to play as a male or female and also select your origins. Keeping in mind that it is still in early access, you are able to go ahead with only one out of the six origins. You should note that these origins were available in Dungeons and Dragons. The origins are:

  • Custom
  • Astarion
  • Lae’zel
  • Gale
  • Shadowheart
  • Wyll

There are seven classes available like Cleric, Fighter, Ranger, Rogue, Druid, Warlock, and Wizard. Apart from that, you also get to select your race and subrace as well. You can change a lot of aspects of your character like the voice, face, horn style, skin and eye color, hairstyle, facial hair, and the rest like how many RPG games let you go all out to customize the character.

Baldurs Gate 3 Gameplay

You have to gather your party of up to five characters and go back to the Forgotten Realms in tune with fellowship, betrayal, sacrifice, and survival. At the beginning of the game, you meet a tentacled character that reached into the pool and pulls out a parasite that enters your brain right through your eye. The visuals are might seem a bit disgusting to a few, but that’s how the game begins, which makes you choose between making use of the superpowers that you have received or not make use of it.

You get to play in the classic top-down view and also the third-person view. You have the option to stealth in enemy zones and also have the ability to look at the enemy base and also plan your route on going ahead to attack them. Like all turn-based combat games, the main game pauses and throws you options as to what you want to do like attack or go to another part of the area. Though these combat modes are based on dice rolls and are converted into percentages that will then show you your success or failure rate.

You and your other characters will be able to take full advantage of looting stuff and will be able to see and adjust the inventory for you and as well as for your other characters. Apart from all that you do have a range of attack modes that can be used when you are either looting out a building, attacking, or even trying to escape from death traps. The dice rolls can either be with you or against you. With that being said there a probability of you dying or losing out from your own dice rolls.
