AT&T LG V40 ThinQ receives Android 10 stable update

The LG V40 ThinQ, which is a flagship phone of 2018 by LG, is now getting a stable Android 10 update. As per the schedule, in Europe, it was going to receive the Android 10 update in Q3 of 2020. But the AT&T variant of LG V40 ThinQ is already receiving the stable Android 10 update. Back in 2018, the phone was launched with the Android 8.1 Oreo update, and later it received the Android 9 Pie update. And finally, the latest Android 10 Update is here for the AT&T LG V40 ThinQ. Currently, the Android 10 update rollout is limited to only AT&T LG V40 ThinQ (LM-V405UA).

Some users have already received the Android 10 update on their LG V40 ThinQ with AT&T service. In the XDA forum, users shared that this update is better than the old Android 9 Pie, so get ready for the whole new amazing experience. The update available in some regions for now, but soon it will be rolling out to other regions. LG has already shared the kernel source for the LG V40 running on Android 10. It means soon we can see the update on other career devices.

The Android 10 update for LG V40 ThinQ (AT&T) comes with software version V405UA30b. LG V40 ThinQ Android 10 update brings new UI, smooth experience, System wide Dark mode, new navigation gestures, enhance privacy and security settings, and more. Users are claiming that the LG V40 ThinQ Camera app also updated with this update, and now it works even better. It means we can expect better performance also for other apps as compared to the older Android 9 Pie.

As of now, we don’t have LG V40 ThinQ Android 10 update changelog, so we can’t share what changes you really will be seeing in the update. But as per the reviews from users, it seems it is way better than the older version, and it also doesn’t have any major bugs that we can notice.

The LG V40 ThinQ AT&T model number is LM-V405UA. And if you don’t know, I would like to mention that the Verizon and Sprint variant also shares the same model number. It means you can also cross flash the Android 10 firmware using an LG Flash Tool. You can also install it on the unlocked version.

AT&T is releasing the LG V40 ThinQ Android 10 update in batches, and so it may take some time to roll out on every phone. So if you don’t want to wait for the update any longer, then you can try to manually flash the file if you have the latest LG V40 ThinQ Android 10 firmware. Also, you can try to search for an update manually as sometimes the OTA notification doesn’t show up. So by following the below steps, you can check for Update and install Android 10 on LG V40 ThinQ if the update is available.

  1. First, take a backup of your important data. Sometimes update comes with issues that can even cause bootloop problem.
  2. Now open Settings on your phone.
  3. Then head over to System (available at last in Settings).
  4. Go to Update Centre and search for the update.
  5. And if the update is available, then download and install the update.
