Asus ROG Phone 3 gets Android 12 via Beta Channel

After the release of Android 12 last year, Asus released Android 12 plans for its phones. Asus has a total of six phone series that are eligible for Android 12. And about four series (ROG Phone 5, Zenfone 8, etc) have already received the update. Now it’s time for the ROG Phone 3. Android 12 for the ROG Phone 3 is now available in beta. Read on to know more about the Android 12 beta for the ROG Phone 3.

As per the roadmap shared by Asus, the ROG Phone 3 is planned to receive stable Android 12 in the first half of 2022. And with the beta update already going live, we can expect the stable update within the first half as promised by the company.

ROG Phone 3 was launched in 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. The device later received Android 11 last year as the first major update. Android 12 will be the second and probably the last official update for ROG Phone 3. You can expect an incremental update but don’t get your hopes high. But you can install custom ROMs for the latest Android experience if you want.

Asus kicked off the ROG Phone 3 Android 12 beta program in mid March but they were only accepting applications and the update was not available. Finally, it has arrived which gives hope that a stable update will be released soon.
