Android 14 has been available since October, but only a limited number of phones have received the update thus far. Asus, a well-known brand, has only manage to roll out the stable Android 14 update for just one phone at this point. However, the company is actively testing Android 14 as a preview on multiple devices. Recently Asus also started the Android 14 Preview for ROG Phone 6D.
ROG Phone series is well known for its gaming capabilities, with the entire lineup optimized to handle high-end mobile games. This is possible with the combination of robust hardware and software. The Android 14 could potentially enhance the device’s performance further when it becomes available. However, for those eager to test Android 14 early, joining the Preview program is an option.
The Android Preview Program operates similarly to a beta program, offering access to testing builds. While these builds may have minor bugs, it’s important to be aware that there might still be some issues before deciding to join the preview program.
Android 14 is a major update, so you will get to experience many new features and changes before the official release to the public. Itโs quite easy to get the Android 14 preview. All you need to do is enroll for the program on your device.
How to Join Preview Program on ROG Phone 6D
- First make sure you are on the latest build of Android 14.
- Now open settings app.
- Go to System > System Updates.
- Click on the Gear icon at the top right corner.
- Now tap Enroll in Android preview program and choose Agree.
- Fill the application form with correct information and then tap Submit.
Asus will review your application, and if approved, you will receive an email (to email address set in Asus Member). And soon you will get the Android 14 preview over the air on your phone. You can check for the update in System Updates.
Do not forget to take backup of your important data. Also charge your phone to at least 50% before installing the update.
