Apple has releases iOS 17.4 Beta 2 for developers. The second beta build will be available to public beta testers soon. The first beta build for Public beta users was released last week along with a re-release build for developers to address various bugs exposed in the first beta build. From the first two beta builds, we already know that the fourth installment of iOS 17 is going to be a big update, at least for users in Europe.

iOS 17.4 is the update to bring support for third-party app stores, sideloading, custom Browser engines (not necessarily have to use Safari engine), and many other features. Once all the beta builds come out we will know about all the new features and changes that will be a part of iOS 17.4.

Along with the iOS 17.4 Beta 2, Apple released a bunch of other beta builds that include iPadOS 17.4 Beta 2, watchOS 10.4 Beta 2, tvOS 17.4 Beta 2, macOS Sonoma 14.4 Beta 2, macOS Ventura 13.6.5 RC2, macOS Monterey 12.7.4 RC2, and visionOS 1.1 Beta 1.

The second beta of iOS 17.4 is available with build number 21E5195e. Itโ€™s the same build number as iPadOS 17.4 beta 2. The update size could vary depending on the device and your previous update. If you skipped beta 1, then it will be around 6GB.

Talking about changes and new features, there are some new additions along with bug fixes. You can check the new beta 2 changes below.

  • New Modem Update

If you are on a public build but want to get beta updates, you can simply choose beta option in Settings > General > Software Update. Once you do, the beta update will appear right away.

Make sure to take backup of your data and charge your iPhone to at least 50% before installing the update.
