The third beta of iOS 17.2 is now available for developers. As always it will be available to public beta testers soon, maybe within a few hours or a day. Apple has been testing the next upcoming iOS 17 update since late last month and this is the third version in the beta.
The second beta update was released last week with some changes including Spatial video recording for Vision Pro, suggestions in Journal app and more. Since iOS 17.2 is going to be the next big update, you can expect few more changes in this or maybe also in next beta.
Along with iOS 17.2 Beta 3, Apple also released iPadOS 17.2 Beta 3, watchOS 10.2 Beta 3, tvOS 17.2 Beta 3, macOS Sonoma 14.2 Beta 3, macOS Ventura 13.6.3 RC3, macOS Monterey 12.7.2 RC3, and visionOS 1.0 Beta 6.
Both iOS 17.2 Beta 3 and iPadOS 17.2 Beta 3 come with build number 21C5046c. From the build number it looks like there could be a few more beta builds. The third beta weighs around 600MB but it can depend on the model and the update you are coming from.
Talking about changes, I am still checking for available changes. Once I find all changes, I will add them to the list below.
- New Modem Update
- Live wallpapers are back in collections
- Show Predictions Inline option in Keyboards settings
- Add Favorite Song toggle in Music Settings
- Clear history in Safari remembers about your previous timeframe selection
- Share Name and Photo option in FaceTime and Phone under Settings
- There are some other small changes and some bug fixes as well.
The iOS 17.2 Beta 3 is currently available to developers, and soon it will be available to Public beta testers. If you already on second beta on enabled beta update on your iPhone, you will receive the update. To check for the update go to Settings > General > Software Update. Make sure to take backup and charge your iPhone before installing the update.
