Apple seeds iOS 15.1.1 for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 Series

After rolling out iOS 15.2 beta 3 and iPadOS 15.2 beta 3, Apple has now rolled out iOS 15.1.1 for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series. Yes, the update is limited to only two iPhone series. We haven’t seen limited updates for quite some time. Whenever there is a limited small update, it is either to fix a security bug or a specific major bug.

Apple has released iOS 15.1.1 to fix a network-related bug affecting call quality on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series. And there is also a security update that comes with this limited update. Apple hasn’t mentioned any specific CVE entry but is listed in the iOS 15.1.1 security update.

The update comes with a modem update for bug fix related to Call Quality. Below you can check the official changelog:

The iOS 15.1.1 update comes with the build number 19B81. It is available for iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

And if you have any of these iPhone models, then you will get the OTA update on your device. The update size will vary depending on which the previous update your device is running. If you are on iOS 15.2 beta, you will not receive the update as it is already a higher update to iOS 15.1.1.

To check for updates manually, go to Settings > General > Software Update. And once you see the latest iOS 15.1.1 update, click on Download and Install to get the update on your device. Connectivity bugs like switching between 4G and 5G will be fixed after updating the device. Also, if your carrier supports WiFi/Internet calling, you can expect improvement there as well.
