Apple seeds first beta of watchOS 11.1 to developers

After releasing the anticipated watchOS 11 upgrade to the public on Monday, Apple has seeded the first beta of watchOS 11.1 to developers. While the company has been testing iOS 18.1 for iPhone and iPad over the past two months. Today, they released the first beta for watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS.

watchOS 11.1 beta is expected to bring an additional set of new features to the eligible watches and fixes. Apple plants the new software upgrade on the eligible watch models with 22R5545g build number, with the gradual upgrade is approx. 458MB in size.

At the time of writing, the update is live for developers, it should be available for public beta testers in a matter of time. It is a free upgrade, so if your watch runs on watchOS 11 beta, you can easily update it to the newer version.

Talking about the features and changes, while the changelog does not mention any specific features, this doesn’t mean the absence of new features. We can expect some more new features, enhancements, and fixes to be included in the watchOS 11.1 beta 1 release.

If your iPhone or iPad is running on the latest version of iOS 18.1 developer beta, then you can easily sideload the watchOS 11.1 beta 1 on your Watch.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap General > Software Update.
  3. Select Beta Updates and enable watchOS 11 Developer Beta option.
  4. Go back and download the first beta of watchOS 11.1.
  5. Thatโ€™s it.

Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network.

Now the watchOS 11.1 beta update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
