Right after the Wonderlust event announcement, Apple kicked off new developer beta builds for upcoming software which also includes the watchOS 10 beta 8. The latest incremental upgrade comes one week after the release of the seventh beta. Along with the new watchOS beta, Apple released the new beta of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and more.
Apple is pushing the new beta to the Apple Watch with a 21R5355a build number. The upgrade weighs only 189MB in size, which is almost the same size as the seventh beta. It is currently limited to the developers. You can expect the public beta release in a day or two. Once available, you can quickly install it on your watch, all you need is to upgrade your iPhone to latest iOS 17 beta.
As always, Apple didn’t mention any changes in the official release notes for today’s build, but we can expect bug fixes and system-wide enhancements. This is the release notes coming with today’s update:

watchOS 10 Dev Beta 8
If your iPhone or iPad is running on the latest version of iOS 17 developer beta 8, then you can easily sideload the watchOS 10 beta on your Watch.
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap General > Software Update.
- Select Beta Updates and enable watchOS 10 Developer Beta option.
- Go back and download the sixth beta of watchOS 10.
- That’s it.
Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network. After installing the beta profile, open the Apple Watch app on your phone, head over to General > Software Update > Download and Install, then install the new software.
Now the watchOS 10 beta 8 will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
